History IFTC started out as a fashion school with the intention of serving the local community initially. Founded in 1969 by its principal Annie Wong, IFTC first opened its doors in a smaller and less glamorous location in Petaling Jaya, a suburb just outside Kuala Lumpur. With eventual expansion, IFTC shifted to various locations over the years, each time moving to larger and better equipped premises. With more than 30 years of experience in providing quality fashion education in Malaysia, IFTC fashion qualifications are highly recognised because of our dedication in structuring our curriculum. All our modules are updated constantly to suit the fashion environment and industry requirements. Annie Wong, as principal and course coordinator ensures that the IFTC curriculum is on par with the teaching standards of many European counterparts.
Annie Wong is one of Malaysia's leading haute couture (high fashion) designers. Haute Couture is a French term coined for exclusive fashion creations normally worn at special occasions at formal and evening functions. Her personal reputation as an established designer has spanned over 3 decades. As a Paris trained designer herself, she fully understands the importance of quality education in becoming a successful designer. Annie Wong's reputation as a fashion designer is second to none with an impressive list of clientele ranging from VIPs, dignitaries to celebrities. Her views and advice to her clients are invaluable and her trademark in delivering the perfect cut to fit any form is her key to success, which she relates to a sound understanding of the basic fashion skills. Under her keen eye and interest in fashion education, IFTC has benefited tremendously from Annie Wong's dedication and vast experience in the fashion business. IFTC has been the market leader in its field in many
aspects. Helping Malaysia grow and develop into a fashion hub for manufacturing
and retail and ensuring the quality and talent of the people that enter
the fashion business is sustainable. To reinforce the standards and recognition
of our qualifications, IFTC became one of Malaysia's first education establishments
to begin offering a twinning programme in 1987. At that time twinning
programmes for education was rarely heard of in any field. |
